Jackson is close to my home so most of the time, I go there because ease of driving. However, it is distasteful for me in two year of constant playing and a loss of 40K I have only won a Jackpot of 1470 dollars. They also asked for all kind of information like a physical address instead of the P.O. box. Everytime I go there I lose on slots and break even on the table after playing for a longtime. The dealers are nice, however stay home this place is a impossible win..take from someone who used to tour this place 4 times a week, lost and lost its terrible. I am a Elite player or a what I call a fool slots are tight!!!!! Go there for fun and do not bring alot of money because you will be pissed, and keep trying to win and it will never happen.

I read the other two reviews and do not quite agree with them. I have only ate at the restuarant once; and not stayed at the hotel nor played at the tables so gave it a rating of 7. If the areas are not cleaned some of the fault is with the customers who leave their trash when they walk away when it would only take a few seconds to pick it up and throw it in the trash cans which are close by. It is difficult for the workers to keep the machines clean when there is players at the machines. I do not notice any papers lying on the floor or counters in the restrooms. It is crowded when the buses arrive and on the weekends so we go during the week and try to get to the casino around 10:00 a.m. We find that their Players Club and Promotions are the best in the area. In December 08 they had a $25.00 free slot play coupon in the Modesto Bee for members of the Player Club. Black Oak Casino (Sonora) is about 15-20 minutes closer to us but the Black Oak does not provide free tournaments except late in the evening and that applies to most of their player club events and promotions and have not seen any promotions recently for free slot play. We do not like to travel in the hills at night from the valley due to the deers and during the winter you might hit black ice or in extreme cases, snow. In the last several months Jackson matched up to $25.00 free slot when you purchased fuel from their gas station and had a player card and were on their mailing list. They have free tournaments on Tuesday for Player Club members and have free tournaments on Thursday for seniors (55 and up) and for the early tournament seniors they provide free coffee and donuts/cookiers (I am not aware of any other casinos doing that). Players can win $50.00 or $100.00 in free slots and the top winner of the day can win $500.00 in free slots. Free slot play is put on the players card the next day at noon and is good for 30 days. Just for playing you get $5.00 of free slot as of the next day (noon) and good for 2 weeks. In the last couple of months my husband won $100.00 free slot play and I won $50.00 free slot play twice. We use to go to several others casinos in Northern California but have found Jackson to provide the most free slot play/promotions for player club members and although I only play the penny slot machines I seem to at least bring a small profit home each time we go which is usually once a week. Although it approximately 1 hour 45 minutes from our home, it is a pleasant ride especially during the warm weather on our motorcycle. For those that have an RV , they have a nice RV park with shuttle service from the park to the Casino. We have never stayed at the RV Park but see a lot of clubs using the park. We have never been to a perfect casino so each player has different expectations of what they expect from the casino. Although I wish the smokers would keep their smoking to outside. At our age we accept the good with the bad and for us we enjoy Jackson Rancheria even with their imperfections.

Where Friendship Is A Crackpot

Our first night we were shocked to learn they don't serve alcohol here. We found out about all this after asking guest services if they had a sports bar where we could watch the Sunday football games and hockey.The only place on site where you can order alcohol is in the hotel at their sit down restaurant called "Lone Wolf", and they don't even have a bar. Lone Wolf serves some great food and the service was also great, but it was dead (on a Sunday night), and it's a lil pricey. The "bar" mentioned in the casino profile here, is just a soft drink and smoothie bar. They serve Strawberry, Banana, and Mocha smoothies, soda, and O'Douls on tap. The drink guy wasn't very friendly, and I kinda felt sorry for him, since nobody really tips a soft drink attendant.
The casino itself is extremely crowded, and very difficult to find an open slot machine. This is an 18yrs and older casino, and we started getting a real Circus Circus vibe with so many youngsters running around on a sugar high. The casino floors were very smokey, especially with the age groups there. I smoke on occassion, and here there were so many smokers it was a bit overwhelming, so I rarely lit up. Some of the machines were slightly abused with a Star Wars Dark Side machine with an apparent damaged speaker that would constantly distort when you played, cracked spin reel buttons on other machines, and volume levels either too high or non-existent. The machines were filthy, and disinfectant wipes were present in some areas, but not all. There was a pretty good selection of slot machines since this place seems to cater to slots players, especially one cent, five cent, and even two cent slot machines. I didn't see a whole lot of the newer machines with separate bonus round monitors that I like to play. My friend couldn't find a Haywire machine, but I managed to spot just one. The payouts were very minimal , and I rarely saw a bonus spin on a Jeopardy slot that was over two digits. I saw no jackpots, and on the progressives I swear a saw a big payout of $23.40.
The lodging was nice, and we managed to get a sweet promotional rate of $49 a night on our room by only signing up for a Dreamcatchers Club player card. My friend made some long distance calls and plugged his laptop into their internet and they didn't charge us a dime for that! There are also no tax charges (state, tourist, lodging, improvement, etc) on lodging, probably because of tribal sovereignty. I did however encounter problems with my key card, felt the television was undersized for the size of the room (which was quite large), and noticed no towels were near the sink and vanity, and no garbage can under it either. If you're a Verizon wireless user, good luck trying to get a decent signal. If you're an AT&T user, you'll be pleasantly surprised, as they have an AT&T antennae on their roof. The doors also don't have those top bar locks that allow you to crack the door open without opening it completely, and so if you forget to slide the little "privacy" notice into the outside key card slot, the cleaning staff can enter the room, as they did while I was in the shower and my friend was sleeping.
Oh yeah, the Dreamcatchers Club cards are really lame. You start off with a Classic membership and can move all the way up to Elite/VIP status, but it's going to cost you tens of thousands. My friend deduced you would need to spend $15K+ before you could reach a tier with comps status. It takes 10,000 points just to move up to Preferred status from Classic, and you only get a 5% discount on Monday Blackjack Tourneys, the buffet, and gift shops. Pretty pathetic! The next tier after that is Premier status, and that takes 75,000 points. I spent about $300 on the slots and walked away with just over a thousand play points. Do the math! The only really nice perk we noticed was Classic membership gets you a 10 cent discount per gallon at their onsite gas station, and at the moment that would have been $2.65 a gallon for unleaded.

1. WORST service you can possibly imagine. The only time they offer their bad tasting coffee is when they want you to STAY LONGER AT A LOSING MACHINE. Otherwise the servers are nowhere to be found.
2. The slot machines are RIGGED FOR LOW PAYOUT. This is a fact. When they first opened, they would pay jackpots regularly. Now they pay very little or NO JACKPOTS, and if someone does win, it's because they want them to win, and if you ask the winner how much money they had gambled, it is always MORE than what they had won.
3. I WATCHED A WOMAN PUMP IN CLOSE TO $2000.00 IN A NICKLE MACHINE AND THEN GET ALL EXCITED WHEN SHE WON THE "THE BIG $1000.00 BONUS". I then watched her LOSE EVERY PENNY OF THAT BONUS!
4. The tables are AS BAD as the slot machines. I sat at a table last night and LOST 20 HANDS IN A ROW! The odds of that are ASTRONOMICAL! The Dealer blamed it on the "Card machine", and he is right. They CONTROL who wins and WHO LOSES and as far as I can see (the last TEN TIMES I have been there), the LOSERS are MOSTLY EVERYONE!
5. The last few times I was at Jackson Rancheria, I asked close to 100 people if they had come out ahead, ALL OF THEM SAID NO!
6. If you want INDIGESTION, eat at the OVER PRICED: UNCLE BUD'S grease pit, you will feel like crap for days! WEAR YOUR RUBBER GLOVES (see below #10).
7. The Dealers are rude and the employees laugh at you when you lose.
8. Don't even consider the SLOW VALET SERVICE, you will be waiting outside in the cold for up to an hour for your car, and then they expect you to tip them generously.
9. Bottom line is, if you want to LOSE ALL YOUR MONEY (leaving with a BIG RED "L" ON YOUR FOREHEAD) and BE TREATED LIKE DIRT, go to Jackson Rancheria!
10. Oh Yes, I almost forgot, I got some sort of EYE INFECTION from playing on their machines. So, you better bring your rubber gloves too. Sometimes they provide disinfecting wipes by the machines (I wonder why?), but most times, they don't. So you are ON YOUR OWN!
Note: Someone is ALWAYS CLEANING/DISINFECTING the machines in RENO. The SERVICE IS EXCELLENT, THE FOOD IS SUPERB (at: ATLANTIS and The SANDS REGENCY) and you almost ALWAYS HIT A JACKPOT!
