Kenny Rogers’ album “The Gambler” debuted in 1978 and went on to be 5X double platinum. Over 30 years later, Mr. Rogers’ became the spokesperson for San Diego’s platinum gambling destination… Barona Resort & Casino.
THE DRIVE
After a pleasant wind the rocky hills of the Barona Valley, you’ll see an impressive structure jutting up in the distance, Barona Resort & Casino. Once on the casino grounds, a wide entrance welcomes you to your destination!
THE CASINO
Unlike other area casinos, Barona’s casino is primarily one massive casino floor. Majestic high ceilings and ample gaming area makes Barona feel more like a Vegas casino than any other facility in the area.
On of the most impressive things about Barona is their use of technology to improve your gaming experience. Casino wide instant jackpots of $10 can be paid directly into the machine of anyone playing with their player’s card. We had the pleasure of visiting one of Barona’s private gaming rooms where slot machines can be accessed via in house thumbprint technology!
Barona carries every multi-denom video slot imaginable – heavy on the .02 cent denom. Barona boasts over 70 regular tables, and also has some fun new high tech table offerings like $2 electronic craps and 12 player Baccarat (with a very engaging host!)

When the dealing’s done, I highly recommend the fabulous Ranch House Buffet. One of the largest CA Casino buffets I’ve visited. From yummy sliders to a full BBQ station, the buffet offerings are served up piping hot. The buffet is rounded out with an impressive selection of fresh seafood.
THE HOTEL
Barona Resort’s newly remodeled lobby sets an upscale, welcoming tone. The standard Deluxe rooms are well appointed and surprisingly spacious. A variety of gorgeous ranchstyle suites are also available. For even more relaxation, visit Barona’s soothing Day Spa. With views of the golf course and beautifully landscaped grounds, Barona Resort is the perfect place to relax between hands.
