THE DRIVE
Want maximum bang for your gambling buck? Then head on over to Viejas Casino, a quick thirty minutes east of downtown San Diego.
THE CASINO
Viejas has an awesome variety of multi-denom slots, from the newest machines to old school favorites. They’ve got the usual tables covered, with some fun additions such as a sit down craps table I haven’t seen before (very cool). If you’re looking for low minimums, Viejas boasts some of the lowest in the state with $1/$2 single deck Blackjack and even ½ penny slots! Homey touches are peppered throughout the casino, from Purrel products at the door to a free soda station available to thirsty gamblers on the second floor. Looking for an upscale vibe? Relax in the newly designed wing, complete with a gorgeous High Limit Slots room that even offers high limit sit down slots at the fabulous V Lounge bar.
Speaking of bars, Viejas is one of the few CA Casinos that allows entrants 18 or over, but still serves cocktails on the casino floor! Look for $2 drinks in the V Lounge from 4-7PM...
THE FOOD
If you’re looking for a cheap and tasty bite, try the adorable Daisy’s café. Or try the bountiful Harvest buffet which has a permanent price locked in at a very reasonable $9.95 (get 20% of that with a Viejas Player’s card.) Also word on the street is the Grove Steakhouse is fantastic – it’s been voted the #1 Steakhouse in San Diego, much to the chagrin of the pricy steakhouses San Diego’s Gaslamp district.
